An Israeli Web site manager says Iranian hackers are trying to disrupt a message from an American Jewish leader to the Iranian people.

The manager, Ohad Rosen, says Malcolm Hoenlein posted a message to the people of Iran on the site on June 18.

The message, in English with subtitles in Arabic and Persian, tells the people of Iran that their government does not represent their interests. He says, "We want to work with you."

In the month since then, Rosen says there have been "dozens" of attempts to hack into the site, called Jerusalemonline.com.

He said they failed to harm the content but succeeded in labeling the Web site as "dangerous" on the Google search engine.

Site director Itai Green said the attacks forced him to upgrade security.
