An Illinois couple married Friday in a hospital room after a car crash injured the bride.

David Harms and Heather Randazzo married in a hospital room ceremony at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

Randazzo was seriously injured in a two-car crash Thursday. She was 37 weeks pregnant and the baby was delivered by emergency Caesarean section. Her fiance, Harms, was unharmed.

The obstetric unit staff decided to give the Granite City couple the wedding they would have missed.

There were balloons and streamers, a cake and flowers. The families attended and the bride wore a white satin robe. A minister read the vows and the bride got a ring to go with her hospital bracelet.
