We begin tonight with the "State of America": If you are a Democrat running for president it sure is expensive.

Now if you weren't convinced that the left-wing fringe of America has come to control the Democratic Party, look no further than the border line socialist rhetoric coming from the top presidential candidates. For example Senator Barack Obama dying to establish a record on, well, anything has taken up the rhetoric of universal healthcare. But not only has the senator promised to cover everybody under the sun, he's also going to raise your taxes:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SEN. BARACK OBAMA, DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: We will ask all but the smallest businesses who don't make a meaningful contribution today to the healthcare coverage of their employees to do so by supporting this new plan. We will allow the temporary Bush tax cuts for the wealthy Americans to expire.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Now, it's a mighty expensive proposal and I'd be willing to bet that there will still be plenty of swelling if Dr. Obama gets elected. It will be your inflamed taxes.

Now meanwhile, Senator Clinton is sounding more and more like a socialist. All she is missing is a government mandated redistribution of the wealth:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SEN. HILARY CLINTON, DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few by the few and for the few. — Time to reject the idea of an on-your-own society and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity. I prefer a we're-all-in-it together society.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

It may be time to dust off the old hammer and sickle.

As we have documented right here on this program, this is what happens when the Democratic donkey gets kicked in the butt by the lunatic left-wing fringe.

And that's the "State of America" tonight.
