BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Humane Society says a pair of dogs rescued from the frigid waters of an Ada County pond have been reunited with their owners.
The organization says a good Samaritan noticed the yellow Labrador retrievers in distress at the pond on Friday and after securing a rope around his waist, waded into the icy waters to save the dogs.
Animal control officer Jason Staley says the man brought the animals to safety and then jumped into a car to get warm and drove away. He was not identified.
The dogs were transported to the humane society's medical center and treated.
