Ellen and Steven Howell said they never planned on having five children, but the Houston couple are now the proud parents of quintuplets, MyFox Houston reports.

"I cried at the first couple of ultrasounds," said Ellen Howell. Howell delivered the five babies at an Arizona hospital Tuesday in less than three minutes.

The infants weighed less than 15 pounds combined. The couple named the babies:

— Sidney Alun, girl, weighing 2 pounds, 10 ounces

— Ivy Elizabeth, girl, weighing 2 pounds, 8 ounces

— Mitchell Thomas, boy, weighing 2 pounds, 15 ounces

— Luke Harrison, boy, weighing 2 pounds, 15 ounces

— Briellen Jeannette, girl, weighing 2 pounds, 6 ounces

The babies were immediately placed in the neonatal intensive care unit, where they are expected to remain for the next few months before heading home to Houston.

"I am a little bit overwhelmed, but happy, ecstatic," the new father said. "I have no words, which is pretty rare for me."
