A 17-year-old Chippewa Falls High School student has been arrested for showing friends nude photographs of his ex-girlfriend stored on his cell phone.

Chippewa Falls Police Chief Wayne Nehring says the teen faces possible charges of representation depicting nudity, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Nehring says the latter two charges stem from a scuffle that ensued Tuesday when officers told the teen they were keeping his cell phone as evidence.

Nehring says the representation charge comes from a new state law that requires people to give consent when they are photographed nude. He says the 16-year-old girl didn't give consent and was trying to get away from the teen when the picture was shot.

A school staff member notified police after learning of the photographs.
