A Delaware man who was drunk when he crashed his car after a wedding rehearsal dinner in New Jersey last year, killing a bridesmaid, has been sent to prison.

Jayson Maykut, a groomsman in the wedding, received a four-year sentence Friday. He had pleaded guilty in April to vehicular manslaughter.

The 30-year-old Wilmington man had about 10 cocktails at the May 15 event in Upper Township, but at the time didn't feel he was too impaired to drive.

And when 25-year-old Megan Perry of Wilmington asked for a ride to nearby Sea Isle City — where the wedding was taking place the next day — he agreed to take her.

A short time later, Maykut's car struck a utility pole in Sea Isle City. Perry was pronounced dead at the scene, while Maykut suffered undisclosed injuries.
