Great Debate: What Would Change Your Mind?

The final hours are waning before President Bush and Sen. John Kerry face off for the first of three presidential debates (search) that could greatly influence whom Americans cast their votes for on Election Day.

On Thursday, the two rivals will take the podium at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla., to discuss foreign policy and homeland security. The host state was the pivotal state in the 2000 election.

Even as they play up Kerry's Senate debating skills, senior Bush-Cheney campaign aides say the burden Thursday night for the Democratic candidate will be to "somehow fix the credibility problem in 90 minutes that has developed over the last two years of this presidential race."

With at least 44 million people expected to watch Thursday's debate, Kerry senior adviser Mike McCurry told FOX News that the face-off is the Democratic candidate's big chance to show the American people that he's a leader with a vision for winning the peace in Iraq, winning the War on Terror and keeping America safe.

I want to hear John Kerry tell the people of the United States what he would do about the "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy of the U.S. military. I think that is the one question that would change a lot of voters minds. It matters to our service men and women, and matters even more to their families.

I would change my mind about John Kerry if he were to withdraw from this presidential race, move to Paris and challenge Jacque Chirac. I would even promote his election there.
