Investigators are hoping a small video camera will hold clues into the death of a Georgia student, who died after his parachute failed to deploy on Saturday, according to MyFoxAtlanta.com.

Olen Reid Ashe III, 23, an experienced skydiver and engineering major at Georgia Tech, was reportedly on his 299th skydive at a popular facility in Polk County, Ga., when his main chute malfunctioned at close to 3,000 feet.

Authorities are now reviewing the videotape that Ashe carried with him at the time of his death, MyFoxAtlanta reports.

A preliminary investigation suspected that Ashe may have lost altitude awareness at the time of accident, according to the report.
