Gasoline Prices Drop 48 Cents in Two Weeks

CAMARILLO, Calif. – Times are tough, but they're getting a lot less so at the gas pump.

The latest Lundberg Survey of 5,000 gas stations around the country shows prices have taken a dramatic tumble over the last two weeks. They've dropped by an average of 48 cents a gallon.

The survey puts the price of a gallon of regular self-serve, as of Friday, at $2.30. Mid-grade is $2.44 and premium averages $2.56 a gallon.

The cheapest gas is in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at $1.89 for regular. And the most expensive is in Anchorage, Alaska, at $3.14.

In California, gas is 61 cents a gallon cheaper now than it was two weeks ago.
