White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan announced Wednesday he was resigning. In his tenure with the White House, he served as:
— White House Assistant to the President and White House Press Secretary, succeeding Ari Fleischer in 2003.
— Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Press Secretary
— traveling press secretary for the Bush-Cheney 2000 presidential campaign
— deputy communications director for Governor Bush in early 1999.
— chief of staff to a Texas state senator.
He also worked on grassroots outreach for lawsuit reform in Texas and managed three successful statewide campaigns in Texas.
