Four people were found shot to death early Wednesday morning in an after-hours club in the city's industrial section, the county prosecutor said.
The four victims — three men and a woman — were slain in the "game room" of the four-room, illegal club, which is on the second floor of a building that also houses a machine shop, said Passaic County Prosecutor James F. Avigliano.
No arrests had been made by late Wednesday morning, but authorities said a witness was being questioned and another witness was being sought.

"The investigation is ongoing, we have leads," Avigliano said.
He said the tables and chairs in the room where the bodies were discovered were not overturned. But Avigliano described a grisly scene of "blood all over" the room, which contained a pool table.
"It is a little aberration," he said. "A multiple homicide of this nature is not the usual, normal type of thing happening in the city of Paterson."

No shell casings were found in the room, leading authorities to believe a revolver may have been used in the killings.
The two-story building, with a warehouse attached on one side, had been swarming with police since about 4:50 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities said they received a report of the shootings at about 4:30 a.m.
The building's owner, Jorge Bermudez, said Wednesday morning that it is used for repairing machines and declined to comment on reports it was used as an after-hours club.

"I work here on a daily basis so it's surprising," said Bermudez, 62, of Haledon.
