Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich has joined the Fox News Channel as a political contributor in 1999, marking Gingrich’s first television deal since leaving Congress.
Gingrich is also currently CEO of The Gingrich Group, an Atlanta based communications and management consulting firm. He is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and is a distinguished visiting fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. Gingrich also serves on the Board of Directors at the Internet Policy Institute and the Advisory Board of the Museum of the Rockies.
He is recognized worldwide as an expert on world history, military issues and international affairs and is a member of the Senior Advisory Board of the United States Commission on National Security/21st Century that produced a series of reports that document the our national security challenges as far out as 2025.
Gingrich served as the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999 and was a member of Congress for 20 years. During his tenure, Gingrich was known as the chief architect of the Republican Contract with America and a key player in the Republican Party’s regaining control of Congress after 40 years. He also championed the passing of welfare reform, the first balanced budget in 10 years and the first tax cuts in 16 years. In 1995, Time magazine named Gingrich "Man of the Year."
Before his election to Congress, Gingrich taught history and environmental studies at West Georgia College for eight years.
Gingrich is the author of five books including the bestseller, Contract with America and To Renew America.
Gingrich received his bachelor’s degree from Emory University and his master’s degree and doctorate from Tulane University.
Gringrich resides in McLean, Virginia with his wife, Callista. He has two daughters
