Nothing is more romantic as flowers in the bedroom. Now, a study says that floral scents can lead to sweet dreams.

German researchers analyzed the sleep of 15 female volunteers for 30 nights.

Scents were pumped under their noses for 10 seconds while the women were dreaming.

They were then woken up and asked to record their dreams.

Those who were exposed to the smell of roses reported more pleasant dreams than those who were exposed to the smell of rotten eggs or no scent at all.

The researchers said the results could help those who suffer from nightmares.

The research was presented at the 2008 American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Foundation Annual Meeting in Chicago.
