The Coast Guard says it has recovered one body and is searching for another person after a fishing vessel sank off the coast of Maine.

Coast Guard crews and other agencies searched by air and sea Wednesday night in Cobscook Bay near Eastport after reports that the 34-foot fishing vessel from Lubec went down.

The identities of the two who were aboard were being withheld pending notification of their families.

The Coast Guard received a report Wednesday afternoon of debris in the water, including a survival suit and what appeared to be a submerged boat.

The accident happened a day after a scallop boat sank off the coast of New Jersey. Three crew members were plucked from the water, but only one survived. Four others remain missing.
