The Colorado State Patrol says seven people have died in a fiery crash on Interstate 25 near Johnstown, about 40 miles north of Denver.

Trooper Gilbert Mares says an SUV plunged off the median at an overpass early Thursday, crashed into a concrete embankment on the other side and burst into flames.

The victims include an infant and a toddler, both boys.

Also killed were three other males and two females, but investigators don't know their ages or whether they were members of the same family. There were no survivors.

Mares says the driver was a male and the vehicle was registered in Alberta, Canada.

Mares says the SUV was northbound at about 4:30 a.m. when it veered into the median and went airborne between two bridges that cross over another road.
