The voice of James “Whitey” Bulger, one of the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” fugitives, can be heard on audio recordings released Wednesday by federal investigators, according to a report by MyFoxBoston.com.
On the recordings, the voice identified as Bulger can be heard discussing such mundane topics as a particularly strong cough medicine. And during an apparent phone conversation, Bulger seems to be answering a wrong number to someone named “Tammy.”

The U.S. Attorney's Office says the FBI released the audio Wednesday to bolster attempts to capture the former leader of Boston's Winter Hill Gang. Investigators hope people will recognize Bulger by his unique voice.Bulger, a former FBI informant, is charged in 19 murders.
Authorities say he fled in 1995 after his FBI handler tipped him off that he was about to be indicted on racketeering charges.

The FBI says Bulger's last confirmed sighting was in London in September 2002. A reward of up to $1 million is being offered for any information leading directly to his arrest.
