GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says a potential marketing contract for Brett Favre could offer both the star quarterback and the team a solution to their standoff over Favre's retirement.
Just months after quitting, Favre has been considering a comeback. But Green Bay hasn't been eager to have him back as its starter and doesn't want him to release him, either.
The marketing deal would reportedly be $20 million over 10 years. It would keep Favre from causing a ruckus by reporting to Packers training camp and might end his bid to come back. Favre confirmed he was considering the deal to ESPN Thursday.
