Fake 'Police Officer' in Jail After Pulling Over Driver

SARASOTA, Fla. – A frustrated driver has landed in Sarasota County, Fla., jail for trying to speed up a slow driver by impersonating a police officer.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, 20-year-old Shaun M. Sparks turned on flashing blue lights and blasted a loud horn at 51-year-old Robin Winfree. He fled the scene after he pulled over her car.

Winfree told a deputy that she wasn't sure if Sparks was really a law enforcement officer.

Sparks is charged with falsely impersonating a law enforcement officer. He's been released from Sarasota County jail on $1,000 bond. It's unclear if Sparks has an attorney.
