Earthquake Rattles Southwest China, Killing 2

BEIJING – A 6.4-magnitude earthquake shook southwest China's Yunnan province early Sunday, killing two and injuring nearly 70, state media reported.

The quake at 5:34 a.m. was centered in the old downtown of the Hani and Yi Autonomous County of Ning'er in Pu'er City, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.

There were three or four aftershocks, said a man at a monitoring station of the Pu'er City seismological bureau, who refused to be identified.
