An Indian man has been told by doctors that all of his internal organs are positioned back-to-front. He is thought to be the only person living with a case of “situs inversus”, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Ashok Shiynani, 64, was ready to have surgery in Mumbai to remove a tumor on his kidney, when doctors discovered his chest, abdominal organs, and blood vessels on the opposite side of his body.

Mr. Shivnani's case of situs inversus, he had two livers, and doctors found the aorta and inferior vena cava, which pump clean blood in and impure blood out of the heart were reversed.

"While operating we were supposed to know the exact location of everything that we are going to touch. But in this case we were not sure which veins were entering where," Dr. Prakash Sanzgiri told the Times of India.

Shiynani had no small intestine and was missing three vessels that supply blood to his infected the kidney.
