BOSTON – Former presidential candidate Howard Dean (search) came back with a roar Monday, stumping for his friend John Kerry (search) and using a beanbag to knock down cut-out images of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
And that was just one of the assaults on the Bush administration during an outing with members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (search).
Dean, who urged union members to raise more money than Bush's "Pioneers" and "Rangers," told FOX News that he won't heed Kerry's call to tone down the negativity during this week's Democratic National Convention (search).
"I think attacking the Bush record is a pretty good idea. What record? Lost a million jobs, sent out troops to Iraq without telling us why. I think there's a lot to attack," Dean said.
On Monday, Dean urged the 201 delegates in his audience to back Kerry on the first ballot that is expected to formalize the Massachusetts senator's role as the Democratic nominee. Dean also said Boston is more about Kerry's story than his platform.
