Missouri police were searching Wednesday for a man seen sticking out his tongue at a store surveillance camera after making a purchase with a stolen gift card and allegedly taking thousands of dollars in jewelry from a woman’s purse, MyFoxStLouis.com reported.

"It is kind of funny. I mean, we look at that and wonder what the heck is going through his mind, basically," Chesterfield Police Lt. Steve Lewis told MyFoxStLouis.com.

Police said the suspect stole the gift card and jewelry on Nov. 10 out of a purse that was left unattended in a car. He appears calm in the video, where he is shown at the checkout counter of a Schnucks store. After completing his purchase he turns to the camera and sticks out his tongue.

Police believe the suspect is between 17 and 20 years old. If caught, he could face felony charges.

"I think he's going to regret doing that to the camera because it's pretty clear if you know who he is, you're going to be able to tell us," Lewis said.
