Four prisoners escaped from a courthouse Monday after one of the men overpowered a security guard. All four were later recaptured.

The guard suffered scrapes in the escape and was treated and released, hospital spokesman Chris Allman said.

Police shut down streets and locked down buildings for several hours after the escape. The guard's gun was taken during the escape, but later recovered, Pontiac police Sgt. William Ware (search) said.

Three of the inmates were quickly captured. The fourth, Jahmal Dillahunty (search), was caught about three hours later.

Dillahunty, 23, had been in court to be arraigned on attempted murder and armed robbery charges. It was unclear if the other three men were connected to Dillahunty's case.

Courthouse security has been under increased scrutiny since March when a man on trial for rape in Atlanta was accused of overpowering a deputy, taking her gun and going on a rampage that left four people dead, including a judge.
