Authorities are working Saturday to identify four people found dead inside a central Maryland home and determine how they died, as they await autopsy results.
Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley says troopers found an adult male, adult female, male child and female child dead about 5:30 p.m. Friday inside the Mount Airy home.
Police were hoping for the autopsy results from the medical examiner's office in Baltimore on Saturday afternoon. Mount Airy is approximately 30 miles west of Baltimore, in Frederick County.
Shipley says police are not currently searching for any suspects.
Investigators had apparently finished much of their investigation at the blue, split-level home Saturday morning. Two children's bikes and a scooter still sat on the porch.
A rock near the porch was painted white with two Bible verses: "We will serve the Lord" and "God is our rock."
"Troopers who were inside say it obviously was a murder scene," Shipley said. "Each body sustained trauma." He said it was not clear how the injuries were inflicted.
Shipley said troopers had determined there was "no further threat."
"We don't know what we have here," Shipley said Friday night. "We do not have an active search under way at this point."
Shipley said police were called to the home in Mount Airy Friday afternoon by a concerned friend who had not heard from the family for a few days. The caller reported seeing a body through the window of the split-level home.
