Cops Arrest Suspect After Gunfire Near Houston High School

One person is in police custody after drive-by shootings forced officials to lock down a nearby Houston high school, has reported.

North Forest High School was locked down for three hours Friday after four reports of random assault rifle shootings in the neighborhood.

Authorities have not disclosed details of the suspect in custody, but MyFOXHouston has reported that he is 19-years-old.

Police believe that at least one suspect fired an AK-47 into the air at several different intersections near North Forest High School in northeast Houston, according to MyFOXHouston. The gunfire reportedly began at 9:40 a.m. Friday morning.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Unconfirmed reports surfaced that witnesses saw three or four males get into a white truck and drive to the school.
