A condom lubricant produced by a health organization to protect sex workers and gay men is being hailed as an acne cure by some in Cambodia, Agence France-Presse is reporting.

Number One Plus, a water-based lubricant made by the organization Population Services International, is an excellent cure for acne, 29-year-old Tep Kemyoeurn told AFP.

"After I used it for three days, all of my acne dried up and went away," she said. "Many people believe in it.".

Khen Vanny, 29, from Phnom Penh, also said women of all ages are using the lubricant to get rid of spots.

"It is very effective. Some people don't believe in it but people who do really get a good result," she told AFP. "My youngest sister and my aunt use it too."

A vendor said she sells Number One Plus at 12 cents a packet to many women each day.
