The last thing you want to deal with when traveling for work is figuring out what to pack. No worries! As you saw in our video, I've put together a list of 7, that's right, only 7 items that will get you through any business trip.

The first thing to consider when packing is to include items in neutral colors. Tops and bottoms in beige, white, black and grey will be unmemorable and therefore can be worn more than once. They will also serve as a backdrop for colorful and printed accessories such as scarves, belts, jewelry and tights.

Secondly, make sure these same items are equally versatile. A white silk dress might be fine for the cocktail party, but you won't be able to make it work at the lunch meeting the next day. A white wool skirt however, can be dressed up or down for both occasions.

Finally, always remember to pack loads of accessories that take little room in your suitcase and will add personality to your versatile basics.

So here are your 7 items. You ready?

1- A dress

I love dresses because they are so easy! A black shift is a perfect item to pack for a business trip. It's no fuss, no matching, and can be layered up or down depending on the occasion.

2- A blazer

A blazer can be worn with anything— a dress, skirt, or pair of pants. Try wearing a belt over it in order to create a whole new look.

3- A skirt

A skirt is great to be dressed up or down for more casual meetings or business dinners.

4- Pants

Pants are not only great for meetings, but I love wearing them on the flight in and out of town especially when I have a meeting the day I fly. Changing from a pair of flats to heels can help you go from flying comfortably to meeting professionally.

5- A white tee

A basic white tee is another great layering piece that looks just as good under a suit as it does with a pair of jeans and a sweater.

6- A blouse

A basic blouse is key to a versatile wardrobe when traveling. I love a silk style, but a cotton button up will work equally as well.

7- A sweater

Another great layering piece! A v-neck, cardigan, or crew will do wonders for your traveling work wardrobe. I like to add a pop of color here, like plum or red.
