A brazen bank robbery in broad daylight was in progress in the Baltimore, Md., area Friday — with police tracking at least two and possibly more suspects with guns.

The bandits reportedly robbed the Central Credit Union on Joppa Road in Towson, Md., shortly after 1 p.m. EST Friday, according to Baltimore County Police and local media reports.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the thieves escaped or were still inside the bank or surrounding office building — nor was it confirmed whether any employees were inside.

One report indicated that three to five suspects had robbed the credit union while brandishing large guns, with all the bank's employees still inside the bank.

Several office buildings along nearby LaSalle Road were evacuated as police hunted for the robbers, and parts of the roadway were closed to traffic.
