A newly released book claims hotel magnate Barron Hilton hasn’t always been so charitable, TMZ reports. According to "Free Lunch" by David Cay Johnston, Paris and Nikki Hilton’s grandfather wrested millions of dollars intended for the poor from his dead father.

The report comes just days after Hilton announced that he'll leave the bulk of his estimated $2.5 billion fortune to charity, the majority of which would go to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, named for his father.

Johnston’s book details how Hilton fought for years to gain control over his father's assets, eventually receiving "more than half of the value of the stock in his father's estate, about 250 times the amount specified as a gift in his father's will," TMZ reports.

Hilton had indicated at a recent board meeting that he would follow in his father's footstep by leaving nearly all of his fortune to the trust when he died in 1979.
