Baby Defies Doctors' Fatal Prognosis, Goes Home
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A baby girl, who defied doctors’ fatal prognosis, is now heading home from Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.
A family representative said Kaylee Vitelli will be discharged from the hospital Thursday, and a donated helicopter will shuttle her and her parents to their home just north of the city in Bradford, Ontario.
Three-month-old Kaylee first made headlines a month ago when her parents went public with their wish to have their dying daughter’s heart transplanted into another baby girl, CBC.ca reported.

Kaylee suffers from a rare and deadly brain condition called Joubert syndrome, which is characterized by the absence or underdevelopment of the cerebellar vermis — an area of the brain that controls balance and coordination.
