A baby girl, who defied doctors’ fatal prognosis, is now heading home from Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

A family representative said Kaylee Vitelli will be discharged from the hospital Thursday, and a donated helicopter will shuttle her and her parents to their home just north of the city in Bradford, Ontario.

Three-month-old Kaylee first made headlines a month ago when her parents went public with their wish to have their dying daughter’s heart transplanted into another baby girl, CBC.ca reported.

But, the transplant was called off when Kaylee survived after being taken off a respirator.

Kaylee suffers from a rare and deadly brain condition called Joubert syndrome, which is characterized by the absence or underdevelopment of the cerebellar vermis — an area of the brain that controls balance and coordination.
