At least 15 people have been killed and 30 others injured after two passenger buses collided head-on in southwestern Bangladesh, a government administrator said Sunday.

Helal Uddin says the accident occurred Sunday about 40 miles southwest of the capital Dhaka.

He says 15 people were killed at the scene. The injured have been taken to hospitals.

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority says vehicle accidents mainly blamed on poor roads and erratic driving kill about 4,000 people each year.
