A Phoenix woman distraught over a breakup tried to hang herself and tape the suicide on her webcam, but she was rescued by her parents after her boyfriend alerted them about what was going on.

The unidentified 23-year-old had a fight with her boyfriend, who was in Michigan, over the Internet before 9 a.m. Tuesday after he told her he was leaving the country and ending their relationship, according to MyFOXPhoenix.com.

She then reportedly threatened to kill herself — tying clothes together, wrapping them around her neck and hanging herself from a ceiling fan.

The boyfriend called her parents to tell them what was going on, MyFOXPhoenix.com reported.

"My wife picked up the phone and he said, 'Your daughter is going to die right now,'" said the woman's father, Mohamed Hossain, who was in the house at the time.

Hossain said he ran into the family room and cut his daughter down, saving her life, according to MyFOXPhoenix.com.

"I got the knife and cut the long clothes she tied with it, released her and laid her down on the floor," he told the station.

She's now recovering at the hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

Police are trying to determine whether anyone else saw the video.
