Authorities say a 14-year-old girl who lied to a West Tennessee 911 operator about being kidnapped has been charged with filing a false police report.

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Holt told Memphis TV station WMC that the girl lives in Caruthersville, Mo., just across the Mississippi River from Dyersburg.

Holt says more people could be charged in the hoax, which led to an Ambert Alert.

A caller identifying herself as a 13-year-old girl told a 911 dispatcher last week that she and her 10-year-old sister had been kidnapped and were being molested.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says it will seek financial reimbursement for resources used to respond to the call.

The teenage suspect is set to appear in juvenile court next month.
