A pregnant 14-year-old girl who was reported abducted from her home Tuesday was found at a nearby apartment and a suspect was in custody, authorities said.

An Amber Alert was issued when police said Patricia Figueroa, who is five months pregnant, was forcibly taken from her North Charleston home wearing only a towel.

The suspect, identified as Jerson Lopez, 20, was taken into custody at the apartment about 10 miles from the teenager's home, police said.

Lopez is Figueroa's ex-boyfriend and thought to be the father of her child, according to police said.

Authorities initially thought Lopez could have been driving to Florida, where he has family, sheriff's spokesman 1st Sgt. Michael Miller said.

"She was taken forcibly from her residence with a bath towel on," Miller said. "He came and got her against her will, took her from her family."

The Amber Alert was canceled Tuesday afternoon.
