The family of a woman who killed herself and seven other people by driving a minivan the wrong way on a parkway and crashing into an SUV was worried about her getting behind the wheel, according to 911 tapes obtained by MyFOXNY.

A family friend, as well as Diane Schuler's brother asked authorities to look for her, because they thought something was wrong.

"I'm trying to help a friend of mine. His sister took his girls camping. They're very young ... The girls just called in distress they said the aunt is driving very erratically. We think she's sick," the family friend is heard saying to a 911 operator. "Now the problem is that they are like radio silet ont he cell phone."

Schuler's brother can be heard talking to police at a nearby police station about his sister.

"I need to know whose name the car is registered to," authorities ask.

"Warren Hance. It's my car," he replies.

But, their efforts were about 20 minutes too late - she was already driving the wrong way and crashed her vehicle on the Taconic Parkway on New York.

Schuler seem incoherent on two calls with her family earlier, sparking concern.

Authorities claim Schuler was drunk and high at the time of the accident. Schuler's husband has disputed that finding.
