Police say two people were shot to death outside an Atlanta skyscraper in what was an apparent murder-suicide.

Police officer Ron Campbell says a man and a woman who were sitting Friday at a table in the courtyard outside the Bank of America building got into an argument. He says the man held the woman down and shot her before shooting himself.

Police received a phone call at about 3:30 p.m. and arrived at the scene to find two bodies. They have not been identified.

Campbell says witnesses described a "pretty panicked scene" at the tower. The 1,023-foot-tall building just north of downtown Atlanta is the city's tallest.
