EDINBURG, Texas – Police say an officer fatally shot a gunman who had shot and killed another man at a crowded elderly care center in Texas along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Police say the suspect shot an elderly man and then refused to surrender when officers arrived at the Pride & Joy Adult Day Care complex in Edinburg.
Police say an officer then shot the suspect.
The name of the man who was killed Thursday was not immediately released. No further details were released about the suspect.
Edinburg is about 150 miles south of Corpus Christi.
