After giving birth to 14 children, octomom Nadya Suleman will have half of her uterus removed, the Daily News reported.

The surgery, which is scheduled for this weekend, means Suleman is unlikely to get pregnant in the future, according to the newspaper.

The unemployed and single mother, 33, had six children, ages 2 to 7, before giving birth to octuplets on Jan. 26. She has said all 14 children were conceived through in vitro fertilization.

Suleman told RadarOnline.com she is having the procedure because doctors found benign fibroids growing in her uterus.

“They’re worried there could be, like, pre-cancerous cells,” Suleman said. “I’m terrified.”

Suleman will spend one week recovering in the hospital.
