New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter left Game 3 of the American League Division Series against the Baltimore Orioles with an injured foot.

Jeter fouled a pitch off his left foot in the first inning, but remained in the game. The 38-year-old veteran legged out an RBI triple in the third, but was clearly limping after the hit.

He struck out to end the eighth, and Jayson Nix took over at shortstop in the top of the ninth.

Three weeks ago, Jeter injured his left ankle trying to beat out a double-play in a game against the Red Sox, but did not miss any time.
