CHICAGO -- Police are sweeping through Wrigley Field with dogs after officials ordered everyone to leave the iconic ballpark.
Chicago Police spokesman Thomas Sweeney says the department received a telephone threat Sunday that prompted officers to investigate. He declined to provide further details about the nature of the threat.
Security told the media to leave the press box right after the Cubs' 2-0 victory over the Giants, but declined to provide a reason.
A reporter on the scene said an official had confirmed the cause was a bomb threat:
Police were seen going through the ballpark. Authorities also redirected traffic away from a street that runs behind Wrigley.
