Wolfsburg, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Alban Meha's second-half penalty kick rescued a point for Paderborn on Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena.

Wolfsburg entered Sunday's contest in fine form, riding a three-matching winning streak across all competitions and in second place in the Bundesliga following a 3-1 win over Hannover last time out.

The hosts opened the scoring with some good fortune as a Rafa Lopez own goal after 17 minutes put Wolfsburg in front. Wolfsburg then had an opportunity to double the lead on the half-hour mark, but Ivan Perisic failed to convert a penalty kick as Wolfsburg went into the break protecting the one-goal lead.

Wolfsburg would rue its missed chance in the second half as Meha scored his penalty attempt in the 51st minute to force the clubs to share the spoils.

The result keeps Wolfsburg in second place on 30 points, nine behind leaders Bayern Munich, while Paderborn sits in 10th place with 18 points from 15 matches played.

Also in the Bundesliga on Sunday, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach played to a 1-1 draw at the BayArena in a matchup of fourth place against fifth place.

Hakan Calhanoglu opened the scoring for Leverkusen in the 18th minute, but Monchengladbach pulled back a leveler five minutes before the break through Roel Brouwers.

The result moves Leverkusen up to third, while Monchengladbach jumps to fourth place.
