Shayne Whittington scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, his 10th double-double of the season, as Western Michigan beat Eastern Michigan 75-67 on Sunday.

Western Michigan won its seventh straight game and avenged an early-season loss to Eastern Michigan.

David Brown added 20 points, 11 from the free throw line, and had seven rebounds for Western Michigan (18-8, 11-3 Mid-American Conference).

Darell Combs had 21 for Eastern Michigan (15-12, 7-7), on 8-of-16 shooting.

Combs scored 13 points during an Eastern Michigan 15-4 run, including three 3-pointers, to tie the game at 52 with 11:20 left.

With the game knotted at 62, Whittington scored five points, during a 7-0 run, and Western Michigan made 6 of 8 free throws in the final minute to seal it.

There were 55 fouls called in the contest. Western Michigan made 34 of 44 free throws, while the Eagles connected on 8 of 18.
