Chicago, IL – The Chicago White Sox optioned pitcher Zach Stewart to Triple-A Charlotte and recalled pitcher Dylan Axelrod from Charlotte.
The 25-year-old Stewart is 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA in 18 games -- one start -- this season.
Axelrod, 26, has gone 1-1 with a 3.08 ERA in seven contests -- four starts -- over two years (2011-12) with the White Sox.
