West Bromwich defender Gabriel Tamas has been charged with violent conduct after an incident with Norwich City's James Vaughan that left the Canneries forward needing treatment from a plastic surgeon.

Tamas is being charged by the Football Association after he caught Vaughan with an elbow to the face in stoppage time of West Brom's 1-0 win over Norwich on Sunday, which Norwich boss Paul Lambert felt should have resulted in a penalty kick.

The 27-year-old Tamas will have until Tuesday to respond to the charge, which would carry a three-match ban if it is accepted.
