Julian Edelman is in the midst of the best season of his career, and it's not even close to being complete just yet.

On Sunday, Edelman set a new career-high in touchdown receptions with his seventh of the season, surpassing his previous high of six set in 2013. Edelman's seventh touchdown came on this 11-yard reception from Tom Brady as he made a move in the open field and extended towards the goal line for six points.

The score gave the Patriots a 7-0 lead over the Redskins and set up this surprise onside kick executed to perfection by Stephen Gostkowski and the kick coverage team.

Entering Sunday, Edelman had caught a team-high 52 passes for 584 yards and looks poised for a Pro Bowl berth this season. He and Rob Gronkowski have combined to give Brady two elite weapons on the outside.
