Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was taken into the locker room midway through the second quarter Sunday against the Ravens after suffering an apparent ankle injury.

Peterson caught a pass on the far sideline and lost the ball out of bounds as he stretched for the first down. His right leg was trapped under Arthur Brown and the running back was in visible pain as he was helped off the field.

Peterson walked gingerly to the sideline and was soon carted off into the locker room for X-rays. He was taken to a local MRI facility and will not return to the game.
