The Minnesota Vikings claimed quarterback Sage Rosenfels off waivers Friday.

Rosenfels, an 11-year NFL veteran, was waived by the Miami Dolphins on Thursday without playing a game this season.

He was previously on the Minnesota roster in 2009, but didn't play for the Vikings before being traded to the New York Giants.

In 44 NFL games on the rosters of five teams, Rosenfels has passed for 4,156 yards, 30 touchdowns and 29 interceptions.

He was claimed one day after the Vikings released Donovan McNabb and joins a roster with starting quarterback Christian Ponder and backup Joe Webb.
