David Williams and Trevis Simpson each scored 14 points and North Carolina-Greensboro beat Georgia Southern 87-75 on Thursday night.

The Spartans (3-15, 3-5 Southern Conference) have won three straight after starting the season 0-15. Kyle Randall added 13 points, Korey Van Dussen had 12 and Brandon Evans 10.

UNC-Greensboro led 43-39 at halftime after shooting 53.3 percent from the floor (16 of 30), including 7 of 10 from 3-point range (70 percent) in the opening half.

The Spartans went 16 of 25 from the field (64 percent) in the second and increased their lead to as many as 17.

The Eagles (4-16, 0-7) shot 58.3 percent in the first half (14 for 24), but couldn't keep pace after halftime — shooting 8 for 21 from the floor (38.1 percent)

Eric Ferguson scored 24 points and Ben Drayton added 17 for Georgia Southern, which has lost seven consecutive games.
